Though deleting the resource file (foxuse.dbf and foxuser.fpt) will generally get things working again, the downside would be that you lose any preferences you've set. Sometimes getting all those settings just right takes a bit of time, so what I usually do is to make a backup copy of the resource file (once I've got most of my preferences set up) so that I can easily revert the environment back to a known sane state with all my settings.
