Yep, the Chilkat stuff is great. A few jobs ago I got the company to buy a site license for COM and .NET. Very useful.

I was need a way to automatically SFTP files to my webserver and I looked at Chilkat, but it was too expensive for my small personal needs.

I ended up using WinSCP at https://winscp.net/eng/index.php. It's not as good as ChilKat, but it's free. I created batch files and pass params and WinSCP sends them up for me. It's cool because if grabs the users and passwords from Filezilla, which is not good for automation.
