You'll find oodles of examples on how to handle IE in js. Actually, it's a long tradition, from the beginning (of js) - just dive into any bigger piece of js code on older websites (maybe newer too, if they never cleaned up) and you'll find IE mentioned many times, with funny comments by our colleagues.
