>>A client wants me to add a facility for his application to exchange data with a website. The website's SDK calls for POSTs and returns JSON. Looks like either Chilkat or wwIPStuff will give me what I need for the communication, so looking for opinions. (If I go with Chilkat, I'll probably use Bill Anderson's new VFPX wrapper class for it.)

Rick's wwHTTP classes work really well; a few lines of code are enough to send and receive http or https content with no additional ActiveX or other dependency. Classes also provide email, ftp etc.

There's also Craig Boyd's vfpconnection.fll that some people swear by.

For txt: a lot of txt providers offer an email address that forwards content to txt recipients. The sending address is linked to your account, so pretty easy to manage without an explicit txt add-on.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
