>>>A client wants me to add a facility for his application to exchange data with a website. The website's SDK calls for POSTs and returns JSON. Looks like either Chilkat or wwIPStuff will give me what I need for the communication, so looking for opinions. (If I go with Chilkat, I'll probably use Bill Anderson's new VFPX wrapper class for it.)

>>>Additional info: though we haven't implemented these yet, down the road, the client probably wants to add texting capability to the application and to replace the existing email capability with something more modern.

In my case WinSCP has generally been best option because it would connect to some FTP's and SFTP's that wwIPStuff would not - didn't dig deep into that with the Chilkat one because it was just 1 FTP it had to connect to. As I recall one of the weird things I had trouble with was connecting to a SFTP that was on a mainframe - WinSCP worked while others did not.

>Thanks. FTP isn't relevant for this application. (It's a vertical for auto repair shops.) Right now, the main thing is to be able to talk to this parts supplier web application.

Ahh ok. Doing a project for auto repair shops actually sounds like a lot of fun to me (being a car guy lol).
