Hi Todd,
Is this a FoxPro thing? Or is this pretty much the standard for object oriented environments? My OOP experience is pretty much limited to FoxPro, but I would still say it's an OOP thing. From an OOP purist standpoint, I'd also say it's designed correctly. IMO, the need for new properties and methods really points out the need for a new class.
I mean, I feel like the developers of FoxPro could have programmed it where a control class inside of a container class would be part of the class definition and therefore able to have properties and methods (such as access and assign methods) added to it. But, I don't know. Actually, based on how the VFP internals work, I would expect it to be somewhat difficult and probably a performance killer.
I may be wrong and Object Oriented professionals around the world may be LOL at my above statement. But to me it seems conceivable. Does anyone know if FoxPro has any plans to add this ability? Or are they LOL?Let's just say I wouldn't hold my breath.
Mike
