The problem is that my "test" code that checks if the connection is valid passes (that is, does not find an error). And yet, immediately after that the following error happens:
Connectivity error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Communication link failure
My conclusion is that the above error is caused by something other than bad connection.
I was hoping that I could make the code recover from the above error, but - so far - no luck.
