>Glad to hear you had a mild does and have recovered. Even with all 4 shots my 94yo dad has it (and a broken hip, and a broken hip, and now phenomena) - I really hope he makes it. My twin sister and her husband ended up with it -- but for some reason I haven't got it and I only have had 3 or the 4 shots. I guess I'm just lucky thus far.
>It is as bad as it has even been in the hospitals -- I have gf that is a nurse and relatives that are doctors and nurses and I hear about it. Doesn't show up in the news as much as it was -- guess it's the news-media empire wanting new stores.

I hope your father makes it. There's always the chance you caught it but didn't impact you. I caught it at a point where I had some horribly insane work deadlines and I was under a huge amount of stress, so I've wondered. I always thought those who said, "I don't want the shot, I'll just catch it and become immune" were idiots, and even more so after having a mild case.

The sad/unfortunate truth, for the last year with each passing quarter, the percentage of deaths were COVID is involved is higher and higher (as a %) in the elderly, most of whom have gotten the shots.

In 2020, well over half the deaths were in the higher age groups. In 2021, that started to change....you started to see a higher % of deaths for people in their late 40's and up (combination of Delta and those who didn't get the shots).....but in 2022 (and now 2023) the breakout has gone back to 2020, and even more so.

Even the CDC has acknowledged that a # of COVID deaths reports were "death with COVID", i.e., those with other serious conditions. Without question, COVID has been a dangerous accelerant for the elderly and those with serious underlying conditions. No question the shots have reduced serious outcomes for many, but sadly are not "as effective" in the elderly/severely ill groups......and the shots are just not going to "stop the virus" cold (as the mainstream media claimed).
