Same here, and we're paying it in three places (inherited a house, and have one in the village, came with orchard). And if you want to cancel electricity, you can, but it's a process that takes dozen hours over several days, and in the end costs more than you pay base cost of just having electricity (not the consumption, just the fixed part of the bill) and lasts only a year, then you'd have to repeat it.

The only way to get rid of it is to tear the house down.
