I also have the latest Kindle fire.
I use it primarily for reading. Besides books I have the New York Times app on it and that's where I get most of my my news.
I use it occasionally for streaming but usually only to see whether I want to watch something on my TV- which is set up really well for streaming.

I never persuaded myself to get an Ipad, though I can see why people have them.
