https://extras.wxpython.org/wxPython4/extras/linux/gtk3/ubuntu-22.04/And I got it all installed, but then couldn't possibly force PyCharm to confess to have wx installed in its virtual environment... so I went back from python 3.10 to 3.8, that's where I had it working. Too bad, but then life is too short to bother with everyone's little errors. So I'll be using wx 4.2.1 with python 3.8, why not. Fewer errors than with 3.10 - there (it worked from command line, without virtual environment) and it kept complaining about getting the coordinates in .writeText() method as floats and not integers, so my grids didn't have header labels. Had headers, though, sorted columns on click, just that they were blank.
Now back in 3.8 it works.
