Ou sont les neiges d'antan?
They were wonderful times, indeed. Some VFP apps that I wrote back then are still running. Each day increases the ROI- which is already off the chart.
There are good things happening now, though.
One grandson is taking his masters in computer science. I love what he tells me.

>It was for a Vendor (Grocery store) compliance reporting app I wrote for Georgia and Florida WIC. I initially wrote it in FoxBase+, and then did a rapid update to use the new stuff in FoxPro 1.0 when it came out later in the fall of 1989. I can still remember watching a ton of snow fall outside in December while I updated the app to utilize windows and some of the other enhancements, before flying to Atlanta to do a demo at a regional USDA conference.

>Sure, I read a lot of books/magazines at the time, worked my butt off, hustled to get any kind of work I could - but the truth is that I had a damn...repeat....DAMN... good product that gave me a rocket launch in my career. FoxPro 1.0 with respect to its time was one of the greatest software releases I've ever seen.
>(And it also gives me pleasure to say for the millionth time what a pure piece of crap dBase IV 1.0 was, and how much of an imbecile E.E. was at A.T.)

>All I can say is, it's sad that a product as fantastic as Fox was, now has a wiki with that type of content.
>If I added the total time I've spent loading FoxPro since 2004, I'm not sure it would add up to 24 hours. But the history of the product deserves better, and both Steve and Mike need to do better.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
