Use api_apprun from process.vcx - it's 24 years old and it still works. Download from https://www.levelextreme.com/Home/ShowHeader?Activator=17&ID=9477 - it's the best wrapper for shellexecute() so far, praise be to late Ed Rauh. One of the parameters when running it is the window type, can be NOR, MAX or HID - I love the third option.
