Thanks. That helps, since it eliminates VFP as a cause. I'm getting:

Error: Can't connect to server (timed out if winsock.dll error 10060)

Once again, this seems to indicate that something on my side is causing trouble. Tried with both firewall and virus scanning turned off and still get the same error.

Anyone have ideas for where to find an IT person who might have a clue (that is, who's used to working with developers, not just end users)?
