Tried that back in the day and couldn't. Used image control instead, and coded its .click() event, works just the same. You can even replace the picture for different states (pressed, disabled) but I didn't bother with that.

Another way would be to have just the picture property on the regular button, with the button itself set to be transparent and no .caption on it. That may be made to work.
