I've done this in many applications (EXEs) and have not experienced what you describe.

I am using VFP 6.0 with VS SP 1.

ActiveX controls: MS TreeView and MS ListView Version 6.

My initial form where the TreeView/ListView reside in have the following settings:

WindowType = 0 && Modeless
ShowWindow = 2 && As Top-Level

Any other modal forms that I call up are:

WindowType = 1 && Modal of course!
ShowWindow = 1 && In Top-Level Form
