It does pose a problem if I need to reboot the server after configuring it correcly, this server is in use from 7:00 AM to 3:00 AM. Unless you want to wake up at 4:30 AM...

DCOM95 is a real joke. I can't understand why MS build this so that
it's an add-on service rather than running directly when the machine
starts up. That's easy enough to fix, but an extra config step that's
a drag.

But, if you use NT you don't have to worry about this stuff as DCOM
is part of the OS.

Trust me DCOM solves real problems, but I agree this is not a good
choice if you plan on using WIn95/98 as either a client or server.
