I'll try your suggestion of clearing all breakpoints next time. But when it happens (and it sporadic) it isn't the breaks on any break points that that bother me; it is the breaks on each change of sub or function. It either behaves as you'd expect or it starts breaking on all new sub/funcs -- nothing special about the code, and | haven't spotted any pattern about when it will start.
It looks like this isn't a common problem, so it may be something about my installation.
