I think this happens when you have the table opened and buffered before the view opens. You shouldn't need the raw table open. That way all you need is the TableUpdate( "TheView" ).

I *thought* that you inserted a record into a view, did a tableupdate on the view, did a requery on the view, and then the data would show. BUT, you're right, I stuck a tableupdate of the base table in after tableupdate'ing the view and now it works. Why would I have to tableupdate both?
