This is really odd. Try this experiment:

set help to
set help on
help && does it work?
set help to e:\ok\foxhelp.chm
help && does it work?
set help to C:\WINDOWS\HELP\USERS.CHM && or any other chm you have
help && does it work?
set help to C:\WINDOWS\HELP\SOL.HLP
help && does it work?

If none of that works, maybe you should consider VB, a drive reformat, and/or going on vacation until the new year... *s*
