If there's an RI trigger preventing the deletion, a DELETE can fail. Realize that the record is still visibile until you move off of it, so of you do a DELETE NEXT n without moving the record pointer afterwards, you'll still be positioned on one of the deleted records, and it will remain visible even if you have SET DELETE ON.
