>We used to have this problem how we fixed it was going into the clients "Network Properties" then select "Novell Network Client" go to the advanced tag and chang "Cache Writes" to off and "File Chache Level" to zero and some off the older clients there is a properity called "Opportunist Locking" and trun that one off to. This only happend to us if they were running WIN95 and Novells Client 32. I has something to do with the way the client chaches the data and it doesn't flush right. Just a heads up on what we did.
Hi Chuck,
Thanks for the info, but this happened with Cache Writes being on and off, and has happened on both Win95 and Win98 machines. File Cache level was set at 3, but AFAIK, if Cache Writes is off, this shouldn't affect it. Also, happened with Packet Burst off and on. As I mentioned, it didn't matter whether the table was located on the local hard drive or on the net. This is particularly disturbing. I would think that Client 32 wouldn't affect a local operation, but it apparently does. I've never seen any of these problems on a stand alone machine.
