Has anybody else experienced problems with NT 4.0 and Replication ? I have been having a terrible time trying to get it to work between my PDC and a BDC. I have tried following all the guidelines in the NT4.0 Resource kit, various FAQ's etc, all to no avail. I have tried starting the service logging in as a replication user (members of Backup operators and Replicator), I have checked the account policies, granted change permission to the user account in the LOCAL_MACHINE key in the registry. I have checked the file and directory permissions on the EXPORT directory and the NETLOGON share. I have tried starting the replication service with the system account. The only variance is that when using the REPL account to start the service, the event log records an event id 2316 with System Error 5 in the event log. According to Technet, this is caused by the REPL account not having the correct permissions to read the registry, but I have checked this and it is OK. If I use the system account to start the service, it just does nothing at all. No events logged, no replication, nothing. I have also checked the licenses, and that is OK too. Oh, and I've implemented service pack 2. HELP!!
