Because I don't have as much time on my hands to add headers at run time from a coded class, check the settings, close the form, adjust the code, run the form, check the settings, adjust the code, etc. as I do to create the class as outlined and replace a few fields in a VCX or SCX.
I tried it both ways, coded first, and always took more time than it was worth to add headers at run time and get them right. Once we put it in a VCX, being able to design the grid in a WYSIWYG designer saved us a lot of time.
