I found something to try on the MS Knowledgebase and it worked. I saw a SET PRINT TO command as the last command after SET PRINTER OFF. That solved the problem. I guess that closes the printer file that was remaining open.
Thanks for your help. At least it got me to thinking of other solutions. I think I used EJECT PAGE after SET PRINTER TO.
