Hi,
I use VFP's SQL Passthrough, to create, edit and modify SQL Server tables. It has forced me to learn the SQL syntax, which I wouldn't learn if I were using a visual front end to modify my SQL server tables. The SQL syntax I'm learning will also apply to an Oracle project that I'm starting soon.
I'm surprised that you find the SQL Script 'not flexible enough'. I've found that I can do more complex stuff using the language (VFP or SQL) than with the various visual tools.
Also I've found that knowing the syntax has helped in debugging error messages from SQL Server. It also helps when looking at ODBC logs of a data entry session that is nor working.
For what is is worth, there's my case for using the sql script over visual tools.
