I agree with you that n-tier needs are starting to pop up all over the place. I heard on the news yesterday that consumer holiday spending on the internet was up this year 230%. I read in the paper that 1998 may be remembered as "the year the internet went mainstream."

As for the lack of n-tier resumes (MTS, MSMQ, SQL, DCOM), I would think that it's still too new to be seen much. The people who have experience are probably still at the gig that "paid" them to learn it. I would tend to be more loyal to a company which was allowing me to develop in "current" technologies vs. legacy.

The rapid change in the MCSD requirements over the last year have identified the rapid, radical change of approach that is sweeping through our profession.
