Over on CompuServe there is a document from Microsoft about the route for choosing a development tool. It's in the VFOX forum, choosing.zip

At Devcon in the USA, the UK and at the European conference in Frankfurt, we were shown a brief glimpse of FoxPro 6.0 - at Frankfurt it has "Foxpro 98" in its splash screen. I don't know if that was a joke or a planned release - Microsoft don't usually do things like that by accident.

Also, if you read InfoWorld (I think that's the one) there have been articles printed about new MS development products. The products may or may not exist (MS deny anything until they are ready to release) but there's a 50-50 chance they're close to the truth.
