Why not use ADIR() to get a list of all .frx files and just programatically open each report?

You might also check the source code for the converter you can probably patch it yourself.

If the code does a "modify report rname" in the application, the VFP message "The wrong parameters were passed to the converter. To convert files, open them from the File menu." I understand the message, but opening all the reports in VFP is not really an option. What other options do I have?
