I'll jump in with Edward here. The VFP grid can be quite a turd if trying to use it the 'wrong' way. (There really is no wrong way, only some ways that work better than others).

Using grids with related tables is frustrating indeed, that is why I never do it. I have very few needs for a grid where a parameterized view won't do the trick quickly, easily and without frustration.

So to answer your question, no VFP 6 grids are basically the same as VFP 5 grids, but if you think that the VFP 5 grids are that bad, I have to wonder what you are doing 'wrong'.
