I don't want to get in a long discussion here again, but if
you don't see the benefits of *distributed* computing you must
be working in a very shielded environment.

I don't see any clients other than small businesses that have
a single computer running everything not get benefits from
distributed applications. It's all about availability and the
ability to get at data from more than your desktop (even if
it moves). If you've ever installed an EXE application in
a shop with even ten machines you know what a hassle software
updates can be

That doesn't mean that Fat Client goes away. What MS calls
Thin Client isn't really thin anyway. IE and ActiveX is
really Fat client by any other name... and if you choose to
still use VFP you can do that too.

What I don't understand is why you bitch at what MS is
doing - they're certainly not taking anything away from you
while expanding what you *can* do...
