Jack,
I can tell you first-hand that SOME Cyrix processors will not run SQL 7.0. I nearly went nuts trying to install Beta 3 on one of my servers until I searched the newsgroup and ran across the same discussion. I change the processor to a Pentium and had no more problems. I understand the problem is limited to older versions of Cyrix chips but I havd no direct knowledge of where the breakpoint might be.

>As you know, you can now run SQL 7.0 desktop on Win95/98. However, I have Cyrix at home and work. Research at the newsgroup indicated that SQL 7.0 would not install on Win95/98 with Cyrix or AMD CPU's... If the SQL 7.0 is also meant for the road-warriors' lap-tops, you would think it would work with non-Intel CPU's... Whatever happend to choice?
