Ed,

Yes i'm looking for someone to host my webpages. It's a Portal-like (search engine, message board etc ) webpage written in VB Script ASP.

I told them that i can supply the vfp odbc drivers but they don't want to install it in their NT. So now it's either i buy Access or continue looking for a "vfp friendly" host.

Good to now that vfp databases works well with ODBC (NT4 IIS).

Happy New Year!

Alvin

>We've used the VFP ODBC driver in server-side ASP scripts under IIS 4 with no significant problems, as long as proper permissions and access rights were established for the database files, and any triggers and stored procedures were 'legal' under the ODBC driver (there are restrictions on what commands are supported under the ODBC driver; they documented with the ODBC driver I think.)

>Or are you looking for someone to host your Web page for you, using your own data files? Are you developing the Web pages, or are they? If they are, then you're at their mercy as far as development; if they don't want to use the VFP ODBC driver, they won't be able to use VFP tables. if you're developing the pages yourself, then as long as they aren't restricting you to using Access (and in all likelihood, they'll also support SQL Server and/or Oracle, since Access is not well-suited to handling large databases) for some bizarre reason.
