Writing an application in HTML (whether JAVA,ASP,etc.) is
not a matter of having an Internet application that looks
cool to the world (or internal corporate clients).

It is easier to maintain. I've worked in big companies
that don't have the technical means to deploy applications
(exe's) automatically accross networks. They still have
MIS people running around installing EXE's, ODBC drivers,
and DSN's on individual computers. A computer crashes
and the MIS people have to reinstall everything. A exe
doesn't work on one computer (but works on other computers)
is a nightmare.

The cost of developing an intranet\internet application
is more upfront, but over the long haul it is cheaper.
Intranet (web type forms) will be the future, not VFP,
VB, Delphi, etc. data interfaces.

It is not an issue of VFP vs VB vs Delphi is better at
creating end-user forms ... it is an issue of which of
these applications is easiest and cheapest to deploy
on the web (using ADO now).
