I bump into this all the time and don't have enough background to know how to approach it most efficiently so I'm asking for advice.
I have many applications that need to have a user input a new parent record and then many child records. Examples, a road name and then the sections, township & ranges it goes through, or a company and all of the individual resource items it has.
I would like to have the user enter the parent and then as many child records as required before exiting the form, and also be able to get to an existing parent and add/edit as many child records as needed.
In the example of company/resource there is limited control required but in the road/location I would like to control the input to limit error.
Suggestions? Thanks!
