Robin,
Look in the Samples folder in VFP5. In the data folder you can see how they set up a p-view in both the views in the TestData database. Look at the forms in the Solutions area to see how they are used.

I will definately move forward with Parameterized views as you suggest (I respect the advice of you, PRO's), but am proceeding with caution using some of my filters for the interim.
