I could agree with your assesment except that VFP seems to be getting more and more low level capabilities (look at the API capabilities that have been added in VFP.) It is really a philosophical issue. I suspect that most VFP programmer's will decide that they have no use for trapping that error and that Microsoft will handle it internally.
P.S. I would really like an improved error handling capability. Although the current scheme has good features, I would like a throw...catch capability. Failing that, a push error/pop error would do. Actually push/pop/clear for both all and individual sets and ons would be very handy.
