80% of my reports are .FRX, some of the really complex to create reports are generated from a report template .FRX, but that's just so I don't spend so much grunt time in the report designer. I have a couple of reports that do direct PCL commands to the HP printer to do complex fill in forms. I have a couple of reports that use Word as an automation server. I'm not sure what features the Access report writer has, maybe if you can enumerate a list of limitations re can recommend solutions.
