Cache Problem - What to do?

Hello,

My client has about 50 workstations that use the same Foxpro 2.6A applications. They all work on stations less than 200 mhz. On the systems 200 MHZ or greater, we get insufficient memory errors.

I installed the Slowstart software, then Foxstart, then the DZPatch hoping that would solve the problem. Unfortunately it didn't.

Through a process of trial and elimination, I found two things that may be causing the problem, and am hoping someone has experienced something similar so that I may take advantage of their solutions.

Finding #1: All systems use the A1 Open motherboard (Acer). If I turn the internal Cache off, the application works (albeit slowly). This is not an acceptable solution for the client. Is this problem unique only to this motherboard?

Finding #2: They have not configured for EMS. Whether or not this has any bearing on this problem, I don't know, as hardware configurations are not in my area of expertise.

Question #1: Is there a Fox memory manager that may be conflicting with the on-board internal cache, and if so, what can I do about it?

Question #2: How do I configure for EMS and what affect will it have on the workstations? Each workstation is configured with 32MB Ram.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Barry
