Then I clicked onto the report and then it selected the DE for the datasource and previewed the data incorrectly.

We have a similar problem. So far we have found that the problem is caused by VFPs handling of datasessions. We call our report from a form with a private datasession. If we select print or print preview VFP is switching between this private datasession and the default datasession, and in this process it looses the sortorder of the tables or worse. If we open the View Window and set its dataseesion to that of our report, this problem goes away.
Have you found anything else causing your problem, or maybe found a solution to it??
