Jim,

I agree with you that it is probably not the scanner because it's parallel. But, my scanner also worked on a particular computer until....I installed Win98.

From what I've read about things you've tried, I don't think it is a software/protocol problem. My approach would be to swap out the cable and network card first.

As long as all computers on the network have the "same" protocol selected, this shouldn't be a problem.
