I created a drop down list that uses a table to validate
user input. I have tried several times to over come the
problem of a drop down list not firing off a valid event
when the user tabs through the field that I have
discovered another possible BUG. I put a messagebox
in the WHEN event of the drop down list to see what
the data is when I enter the field (standard debugging
practice) and have found out that the WHEN event
fired off when I entered the field (NORMAL) but it also
fired again when I used the Keyboard to choose an
item from the list, but if I used the mouse to pick an
item from the list the WHEN event did not fire. I called
Microsoft yesterday to report this situation and my call
was received by a Derrick who took the call and the
BUG information with a manner that suggested 'OH
ANOTHER BUG in VFP 3.0'. It may have been just
me but I have been working on my first VFP application
to replace a working 2.6 App, and have found 3 BUGs
in VFP 3.0 and VFP 3.0b, and I have not even been trying
hard. It seems that microsoft has not got the EVENT
model right for this software and I dont know that it is
worth the effort to write around bugs that exist waiting
for MS to fix or dont fix them. So far my collegues and
myself do not trust the code in all situations, would you
want an AIR TRAFFIC Control system created with this
product? Let me hear from you on this.
