I've used pcANYWHERE and conected with clients at 28.8K, and don't see any really bad performance. The only odd thing is that menu pull-downs seem to refresh horizontally (drawing one pixel column at a time) very slowly instead of vertically (top down) like everything else seems to do, which is pretty acceptable as far as speed goes. Faster is definitely better, though.
