You might try using the Shell.Application object's BrowseForFolder method; I posted an enhanced GetDir for VFP using it in the VFP FAQ here on UT (Enhanced GETDIR() using Shell Object) that ought to be easy enough to adapt for use in place of the common dialog in VB. Obviously, the code for it is VFP, but it's pretty close, and there just isn't much code behind it.
