I'm a SQL server newbie, so I've got simple questions (I think).
We plan to have a database queried by our customers through CGI or ASP forms. They will connect and ask for information about their accounts, invoices and bills.
So, is SQL Server the good product to choose? I mean, we want short response times, and huge volumes supporting.
If we design fast client query programs, are we right to choose SQL Server to store and retrieve the info. Or do we need another database system ? Is there a better solution ?
The question of the budget isn't a problem. We have already an internet server (NT bi-proc, Exchange-Outloook, and MIS).
Do we need to buy another machine to store the db ?
Thanks for your help, or case studies, or examples.
