Looks to me like all the report variables I can use are based upon line number - and my detail bands will vary in height. Perhaps I'll try to use RECNO() MOD 2 = 0

>Make a grey box around the detail line. In the print when, put _lineno mod 2 = 0. (Check on the variable and syntax - that's from memory). I haven't figured a way to get rid of the box itself and just leave the shading, though.
