Unfortunatly I don't know the technical aspects of it, but the docs say it has to do with apartment threading model. My ASSumption is that, even though there are multiple threads, there is only ONE method/chanel to present UI in a Win32 machine, so, if two threads tried to present UI it would crash itself.
Of course, I would even recommend that an .EXE server doesn't have a UI either...
I would say, Randy Brown is the guy to email if you want the technical resons why... I just accept it, and go with the flow.
