>>Do VFP screen refreshes really run slower under Citrix Metaframe?
>>
>>I've heard that because the controls are not Windows controls that screen updates are slow, but this is not my experience. My VFP app seems to paint screens as fast as Microsoft Access.
>>
>>Has anyone run any actual benchmarks on this issue? If VFP is as fast as other tools or perhaps only very slightly slower I'm sure many other developers would happy to hear this.

>>Personally, I'm very satisfied with VFP performance under Citrix.

>I was extremely disappointed in performance with forms containing multiple grids. One trick is to lockscreen before starting a whole series of refreshs, and not unlock until all control refreshes complete.
I have to agree with Ed and you. I have found VPF 5.0 performance on par with some Delphi apps we have on the WinFrame. The trick as Ed suggests is to Lockscreen prior to a refresh, which I conveniently encapsulated in my own class called MyRefresh... I have to thank Craig Berntson for that piece of advice...
