A large subset of the language is already in the odbc driver, read %systemroot%\System32\Drvvfp.hlp for what is and is not in it (note that pcount() is not listed as excluded, but is). I don't think 2 new functions would add much. The interpreter is not the same as the VFP interpreter, it runs directly off the source and does not have a precompiler stage.
P.S. I have found a utility that makes it possible to make JDBC and ODBC calls to a remote machine that is running an ODBC driver that uses direct file I/O. This may be handy for some applications. It is called dbgate22.zip. I'll check it out soon and post an evaluation.
