Thankyou for your reply. I did not realize that the popup being referred to was the old menu popup. I though this was some new VFP thing.

It's good to know that such flexibility exists -- and I hope VFP continues to support it. I can think of several immediate uses for a popup rowsource -- including one to replace a tree for drilling down into tables.
